SVJCT’s Samarth Nursing College
Ratnagiri Maharashtra, Maharashtra | Est. 2007
About the College
Samarth Nursing College is run by the Shree Vithalrao Joshi Charities Trust (SVJCT). The trust started nursing education in rural Konkan to provide opportunity for local youth, especially from villages, to get quality nursing education without needing to relocate to big cities.
The college is attached to the parent hospital — B.K.L. Walawalkar Hospital & Diagnostic Research Centre, providing students with real-hospital clinical exposure, including wards, pathology labs, community health centers, and rural health training centres.
The atmosphere blends rural community health service with recognized academic programmes — aiming to produce competent, compassionate nurses ready for both hospital and community-based roles in healthcare, especially serving rural populations.
